Polyansky: Statement on Lachin corridor of the UN Security Council was not accepted because of France

First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that the statement on the Lachin corridor of the UN Security Council was not accepted because of France. He wrote about this in his telegram channel.
According to him, a number of Armenian telegram channels promote “absolutely false presentation of information” about the reasons for not accepting the statement on the Lachin corridor for the press. He noted that from the very beginning Russia was determined to work constructively in the context of working out the reaction of the UN Security Council.
“At the request of Yerevan, this process was coordinated by the French, who ignored the vast majority of our proposals, while taking into account the corrections of other members of the Security Council. The uncleanliness of such methods of Paris is obvious,” Polyansky said.
He hoped that Yerevan would not allow itself to be drawn into “unscrupulous geopolitical games.”
Recall that the only road connecting Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh passes through the Lachin corridor. On December 12, a group of Azerbaijanis, who allegedly introduced themselves as environmentalists, blocked off the area in the area where the Russian peacekeepers are located. Yerevan regards this as a provocation.
