Polyansky: at the meeting of the UN Security Council did not support the Kyiv version of the events around the ZNPP

At the meeting of the UN Security Council, no one supported the Ukrainian version of what is happening around the Zaporozhye NPP, wrote Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky in his Telegram channel.
“Let’s hope that the past discussion, during which, despite the obsession with accusations against Russia, no one essentially supported the delusional Ukrainian version of events, will keep the Ukrainian leadership from new reckless provocations,” Polyansky wrote.
He expressed hope that the visit of the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi to ZNPP will take place in the very near future and “neither Ukrainians nor the UN Secretariat will interfere with him, no matter how much he denies his similar line.”
Since the beginning of the special operation, the parties have repeatedly accused each other of strikes on the territory of the station and damage to the infrastructure of the nuclear power plant. On August 5, the CAA of the Zaporozhye region announced another attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Zaporozhye NPP. As a result, two power lines and water pipes were damaged. The Russian Defense Ministry called Ukraine’s actions “nuclear terrorism”. The department noted that the accident at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant will cause a global man-made disaster. On the night of August 7, the Armed Forces of Ukraine again attacked the nuclear power plant. Also, the attacks continued on August 11 – the Ukrainian military attacked the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant using MLRS and heavy artillery.
On August 10, the G7 foreign ministers demanded that Russia “immediately” return the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to Ukrainian control. They expressed concern about the current situation, which “increases the risk of a nuclear accident and endangers the population of Ukraine and the entire world community.”
On the same day, Russia demanded that a meeting of the UN Security Council be held on August 11 in connection with the attacks by the Ukrainian military on the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. UN Secretary General António Guterres called the attacks on the ZNPP a “suicidal act” and called for an end to them. He also expressed hope that the IAEA would gain access to the station.
