The majority of Americans do not support the policy chosen by the administration of US President Joe Biden regarding the conflict in the Gaza Strip, according to a survey conducted by the research company YouGov and the CBS News television channel. RIA Novosti reports this.
It is noted that the share of respondents who do not approve of the White House’s policy in this aspect reached 61%, while the share of those who are positive is 39%. In October, that is, at the very beginning of the conflict, these were 56% and 44%, respectively.
It is noted that Biden’s overall approval rating hovers around 41%. As the authors of the study note, Americans consider the main problem of the United States not the conflict in Gaza, but inflation (27%), illegal immigration (20%) and the “state of democracy” (16%). The conflict in Gaza is considered important by only 4% of respondents.
The survey was conducted December 6-8 among 2,144 adult Americans. The researchers estimated the error at 2.8 percentage points.
