US President Joe Biden can lose the presidential election to any candidate who is nominated against him from the Republican Party. Such results showed poll commissioned by NBC News among 800 registered voters between April 14 and 18.
According to the results of the poll, if Biden becomes the official candidate from the Democratic Party, then only 41% of voters will be ready to vote for him in the elections in 2024. At the same time, 47% of respondents declared their readiness to vote for the candidate from the Republican Party, who has yet to be determined. The rest announced their intention to vote for an independent candidate or have not yet decided on their choice.
In addition, only 41% of survey participants approve of Biden’s activities as president, while 54% do not approve, in January these figures were 45% and 50%, respectively, that is, the rating of the American president continues to fall.
The US presidential election will be held in November 2024. On November 16 last year, former President Donald Trump announced that he again intends to compete for the presidency. Biden also announced his intention to participate in the elections in order to remain president for a second term, however, his candidacy from the Democratic Party has not yet been officially announced, he has practically no competitors within the party.
Trump is the most popular candidate from the Republican Party, according to the poll, 46% of Republicans are ready to vote for him in the elections, followed by Florida Governor Ron De Santis (31%), former Vice President under Trump Mike Pence (6%) and etc. At the same time, Pence has not yet announced his intention to fight for the presidency, but promised to announce his decision later. The candidate from the party will be selected following the results of the primaries. The official start of Biden’s presidential campaign is expected next week.
