Politician Cubertafon says aid to Ukraine depleted France’s stockpiles of weapons

Jean-Pierre Cubertafon, a member of the National Assembly, said that the provision of military support by France to Ukraine provoked the depletion of national stocks of weapons.
Addressing Defense Minister Sebastien Lecorne, the parliamentarian demanded the restoration of military reserves in the face of “the revival of high-intensity conflicts.” The text of the letter was available “Tapes.ru”.
For almost ten months since the start of the conflict in Ukraine, the Western allies, as noted in the letter, “actively used their arsenals to assist the Ukrainian army.”
The French Ministry of Defense, as the politician recalled, had previously promised to send written commitments to arms manufacturers to “obtain guarantees of the timing and volume of orders before signing new contracts.”
Meanwhile, the country’s draft budget for 2023 suggests an increase in defense spending by three billion euros. “This is the largest increase in nearly 15 years,” said Cubertafon.
The deputy asked for detailed information on the accompanying guarantees of production chains and the provision of weapons.
