Witold Waszczykowski, a former head of Poland’s foreign ministry and a member of the European Parliament, said the West is keen to restore relations with Russia, despite all the promises made to Ukraine. According to information published on the Energetyka24 portal, the politician noted that the process of convincing Ukraine of the need to freeze the conflict and repeat the situation of 2015 in order to conclude an agreement with Russia is already underway.
Waszczykowski believes that many Western countries are in need of cooperation with Moscow. He noted that good relations with Russia are important for Germany. Thus, despite the promises of many Western leaders, the principle “business is business” prevails in relations with Moscow, the MEP emphasizes.
