Polish carriers will begin a round-the-clock blockade of the Medyka-Shegini checkpoint on the border with Ukraine, said Andriy Demchenko, a representative of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Demchenko spoke on the air of the Ukrainian telethon. Previously, this checkpoint was blocked by Polish carriers from ten in the morning to nine in the evening.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted that Ukraine is currently facing significant difficulties at the border. He cited “political steps” by neighboring countries as the reasons, apparently referring to the blockade of checkpoints by Polish carriers. Zelensky said that Kyiv is already working on this issue and suggested giving time to countries neighboring Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that Polish carriers began to block border crossings on the Polish-Ukrainian border. Their demand is the abolition of benefits for Ukrainian carriers and a return to the previous system, under which Ukrainians had to obtain permits for transportation. The media reported that currently the queue of trucks on Polish territory stretches for 50 km, and two drivers from Ukraine have already died in the queues.

On Saturday, a video appeared on social networks, the footage of which shows how Ukrainian truck drivers first have a row with Polish law enforcement officers, and then begin to chant slogans that are offensive to them, calling for the death of Poles. It was reported that the video was filmed on November 23. Polish deputy from the Confederation party Witold Tumanovich said that in response to Poles’ disagreement with the privileges of Ukrainians, they are showing a “Nazi instinct.”
