“Patriot missile launchers from Germany will arrive in our country any day,” he said (quote according to Interfax).
Employees of the Bundeswehr will also arrive in Poland, whose stay on the territory of the republic was agreed upon at several levels, in particular, by the defense departments and the military command of the two countries. Patriot systems and employees of the German armed forces will be located in the Lublin Voivodeship in eastern Poland.
In early December 2022, Berlin promised to place Patriot complexes in Poland, not Ukraine, in order to increase the security level of its NATO partner. The parties are starting to place the complexes and connect them to the Polish control system.
Negotiations between Berlin and Warsaw on the deployment of complexes were preceded by the incident with the fall of a rocket in Poland, which killed two people. On November 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that specialists had identified the wreckage from photographs from the missile crash site in Poland as elements of the Ukrainian S-300 missile system. US President Joe Biden, at a meeting with the leaders of the G7 countries and NATO, said that a Ukrainian air defense (air defense) missile fell on the territory of Poland.
