Ex-Minister of Agriculture of Poland Savitsky proposes to ban the import of Ukrainian products
Former Minister of Agriculture of Poland Marek Sawicki proposes to completely ban the import of food products from Ukraine.
A number of Polish organizations uniting farmers earlier protested against the import of grain intended for export into Poland. According to Polish farmers, this grain ends up in their country, besides, it is of inadequate quality.
According to official data from the Ministry of Agriculture, about 2 million tons of grain were imported into the republic from Ukraine in 2022.
Savitsky, in an interview with the Wyborcza newspaper, said that at the moment it is necessary to radically solve the problem – to completely ban the import of food from Ukraine.
In the Sejm, the head of the Confederation faction of Poland, Krzysztof Bosak, believes that problems with Ukrainian grain should lead to the resignation of the current head of the ministry, Henryk Kowalczyk. “The losses for the economy are in the billions,” the parliamentarian said. “The farmers must get him resigned, he is a bad minister.”
