Poland refuses to transfer its F-16s to Ukraine: not enough
Polish President Andrzej Duda said in Reykjavik, where the Council of Europe summit is taking place, that Warsaw has already handed over almost all of the country’s MiG-29 fighter jets to Kiev, but is not ready to give up its F-16 aircraft. At the same time, Duda pointed out that Poland has provided billions of dollars of military assistance to Ukraine and is generally in the top three in terms of the amount of support provided.
“The number of F-16 aircraft that we have does not allow today to talk about the transfer of any part of them to Ukraine,” the President of Poland said.
At the CE summit, which opened the day before, it is planned to discuss issues related to the conflict in Ukraine. The event is attended, among other things, by the delegation of Ukraine.
