Poland refused to switch to the euro and referred to the example of Croatia

Poland will not abandon its national currency and switch to the euro. This was stated by the Prime Minister of the Republic Mateusz Morawiecki. At the same time, the politician referred to the example of Croatia, which switched to the single European currency from 2023.
“They are experiencing a price shock, they are faced with price chaos,” TASS quoted the Polish prime minister as saying. Morawiecki also said that prices in Croatian stores soared by 70-80 percent in a week.
Earlier, Warsaw has already stated that with the transition to the euro, Zagreb has lost the main attribute of sovereignty and the ability to influence its financial market.
On January 1, 2023, Croatia became the 20th EU country to adopt the euro. In addition, she joined the Schengen agreement.
Currently, seven EU members continue to use their national currencies: Bulgaria, Hungary, Denmark, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic and Sweden.
