The first South Korean multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) K239 Chunmoo has arrived in Poland. About it at X (formerly Twitter) informed Minister of National Defense of Poland Mariusz Blaszczak.

“The first Korean K239 Chunmoo rocket launcher has just arrived in Poland. It is installed on a Polish Jelcz truck. New launchers will also arrive this year,” Blaschak wrote.

In the ministry reportedthat on October 19, 2022, an agreement was concluded in Warsaw related to the acquisition of 288 K239 Chunmoo launchers from the South Korean side. Delivery dates are scheduled for 2023-2028, and the first 18 units integrated with Polish Jelcz machines will be delivered in 2023. How wrote TASS, citing Blaszczak, Chunmoo will also be integrated with Polish communication and control systems on the battlefield. The first 18 launchers will be used by the 18th division and will protect the eastern flank of NATO.

In July 2022 Blaszczak declared about the purchase from South Korea of ​​1,000 K2 tanks, more than 600 K9 howitzers and three squadrons of FA-50 fighters. “The ordered equipment represents a real strengthening of the Polish potential,” the country’s Ministry of Defense noted.
