The Polish Border Service said that US citizens who wish to leave Belarus can do so through the border checkpoint in Terespol. Earlier, the American embassy warned its citizens that they would not be able to leave the republic through Poland.
“In response to the US Embassy’s ‘urgent call for US citizens to leave Belarus’, the Polish Border Guard informs that they can enter Poland through the Terespol border crossing,” the agency said on its X (formerly Twitter) page.
August 21 US Embassy in Minsk urged American citizens to immediately leave Belarus in connection with closure Lithuania has two border checkpoints with the republic. We are talking about the road checkpoints Shumskas (Losha) and Tverečius (Vidzy). Currently, four border crossing points are open – Lavorishkes (Kotlova), Medininkai (Stone), Raigardas (Privalka) and Šalchininkai (Benyakoni). At the same time, the embassy was advised to leave Belarus through the remaining border crossings with Lithuania and Latvia or by plane.
The State Border Committee of Belarus said that the official voiced position does not correspond to the real reasons for the decision, and the Lithuanian authorities use any pretext to prevent the movement of goods and reduce the flow of Lithuanians traveling on a visa-free basis.
