Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski: NATO’s presence in Ukraine is not unimaginable
The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, expressed approval for the idea of French President Emmanuel Macron to send troops to Ukraine. This was reported by the Polish publication Rzeczpospolita, citing Sikorski’s speech during a conference on March 8 at the University of Warsaw.
“The presence of NATO forces in Ukraine is not something unimaginable,” the diplomat said, as quoted by the agency.
The Polish minister also said that he “highly appreciates Macron’s initiative” to send NATO troops to Ukraine, arguing that the goal is to intimidate Russia. At the same time, Polish Defense Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysh previously stated that Warsaw is not going to send combat units to the territory of the former Soviet republic.
