Poland called on NATO to increase its capabilities against Russia

The head of Poland’s National Security Bureau, Jacek Sievera, said NATO countries in the east must strengthen their capabilities to counter Russia within three years. He said this in an interview with Nasz Dziennik.
Sivera commented on a recent analytical study by the German Society for Foreign Policy, which suggests that NATO member countries in Europe have 6-9 years left before confrontation with Russia.
Sivera stressed that, in his opinion, the time frame proposed by German analysts is too optimistic. He argues that to prevent military clashes, NATO countries on the eastern flank must prepare more actively for confrontation within three years. The head of BBN noted that this time is critical to create the necessary capacity.
Sivera also noted that the defense industry in Russia is capable of restoring resources in the next three years. At the same time, he expressed confidence that the new Polish government will maintain the course of increasing the size of the army and large purchases of weapons and military equipment.
