Poland asked the UN to help get war reparations from Germany

Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, government commissioner for reparations Arkadiusz Mulyarchik said on the radio that Warsaw had sent a statement to the UN with a request to intervene in the issue of Germany paying reparations for war crimes during the Second World War.
Mulyarchik noted that Poland had applied to UNESCO and the Council of Europe with the same request.
He noted that the UN could create a platform to start a dialogue with Germany, because so far Berlin refuses to discuss the issue.
Recall that Poland requires Germany to pay 1.3 trillion dollars. In Berlin, they said that Germany had already paid quite large reparations and there were no grounds for new payments.
