Adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak, in response to questions by e-mail, said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for a possible sharp escalation of the conflict during the Russian winter offensive.
As informs The New York Times, Podolyak believes that Russia is already training soldiers who can be used in massive infantry attacks.
In his comment, Podolyak noted that Ukraine is serious about the risk of a new Russian offensive. “It is imperative that our partners take these risks no less seriously,” the Ukrainian adviser quoted the publication as saying.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, in an interview with the Economist magazine, expressed confidence that Russia would carry out a new offensive against Kyiv.
