Podolyak said that Kyiv “will die, but will not become a Russian city”

Kyiv “will die, but will not become a Russian city,” said Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with Voice of America (included in the register of foreign agent media).

According to him, without help from the United States, it will be much more difficult for Ukraine. At the same time, he stated that Ukrainians “will fight the Russian army to the last.”

“It will be very difficult for Ukraine. And of course, Ukraine will still continue to fight and defend its right to freedom. And, of course, we will not kneel before Russia. Kyiv will die, but will never become a Russian city,” Podolyak said.

He also asked the question “whether today both the United States and the democratic camp as such are ready to admit defeat in the confrontation with “some country called the Russian Federation.”

Earlier, the commander of the ground forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, General Alexander Syrsky, said that the Russian Armed Forces were advancing along the entire front. Ukrainian military expert Oleg Zhdanov said that without supplies of Western equipment, mobilization will not help Ukraine. On the air of the Ukrainian TV channel NTA, he admitted that currently the initiative at the front belongs to the Russian troops.

Max Bergmann, an analyst at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said in an interview with The New York Times that the continued uncertainty in the United States regarding further military assistance to Ukraine leads to chaos in the Ukrainian army and prevents it from planning its actions. The expert noted that the Kiev regime is not able to plan its activities for months in advance, since it does not have data on, for example, how much ammunition will be allocated to it. Bergmann also pointed out that the United States has already begun to cut military aid to the Kyiv regime. At the end of September, the purchase of weapons for the Ukrainian Armed Forces was estimated at several hundred million dollars, and at the beginning of the year it was 2.8 billion dollars. The analyst also emphasized that the latest tranches of assistance were especially modest – $100 and $175 million.

Earlier, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre admitted that there is currently no progress on the issue of US assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, she said that the country’s President Joe Biden is “ready for compromises” in order to approve new budget allocations in the interests of Kyiv.
