Podolyak said that Kyiv agreed with the West strikes on the Crimea

The West supports Kyiv in “destroying everything Russian”, including in Crimea. This was stated by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak on the Rada TV channel.

“Today there is already an absolute consensus that we can destroy everything Russian, for example, in Crimea,” he said (quote according to RIA Novosti).

He also said that the number of drones attacking Russian territory “will increase.”

On August 28, the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov informedthat Russian air defense systems shot down two Ukrainian reconnaissance drones in the north and west of the peninsula. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clarified that we are talking about downed aircraft-type drones. According to the department, they were destroyed around 10:30 Moscow time.

Since the beginning of the special operation, Ukraine has regularly made attempts to attack Crimea. August 25 Ministry of Defense reported about the destruction of 42 drones in the sky over the territory of the peninsula. Prior to this, Kyiv attacked the Crimean bridge twice. In October 2022, a truck blew up on the bridge, and in July 2023, Ukrainian surface drones hit the site. After that Ukraine tried attack the bridge with S-200 missiles converted into a strike version. The shells were intercepted.

At the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasizedthat Ukrainian attacks on civilian targets in Crimea, including the Crimean Bridge, will not go unanswered. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, answering a question about the aggravation of the situation around the peninsula, said that the necessary measures are being taken in Crimea to ensure security. He pointed out the need to continue the special operation so that the territories of the Russian Federation “do not face such a threat.”
