Petersburg may introduce a 100% “tax cashback” for patrons

Deputies of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg today, February 15, approved in the first reading bill about the investment tax deduction (INV) for organizations that support universities, colleges and technical schools of the city. We are talking about enterprises that donate machine tools, computers and other equipment to educational institutions.
The United Russia party, which was the author of the initiative, proposes to grant “patrons” the right to INV in the amount of 100% of the cost in the form of the cost of the transferred equipment and materials. According to the authors of the project, the shortfall in revenues of the city budget in 2023–2024 will amount to 143.3 million rubles. Amendments are proposed to the city law “On tax benefits”.
You can get an INV if the equipment is transferred to an educational institution that implements basic educational programs for enlarged groups of professions, specialties and areas of training from 08.00.00 to 29.00.00, 31.00.00, 32.00.00, 34.00.00. Among the specialties: light industry technology, construction engineering and technology, nursing, clinical medicine, etc.
It is noted that the chosen professions are the most in demand in the labor market of St. Petersburg. Pavel Krupnik, head of the United Russia faction, noted that about ten enterprises are already helping universities and colleges with machine tools, computers and 3D printers.
The bill was supported by 47 parliamentarians, 2 abstained from voting. Member of the Yabloko faction Boris Vishnevsky proposed expanding the list of specialties by adding fundamental sciences to it. Mr. Krupnik noted that the list now contains all the necessary professions, including those based on fundamental sciences.
