At the moment, there is no talk of a summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden, said the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
“No, there is no talk of a summit at the moment,” the Kremlin spokesman said, ruling out the possibility of a new meeting between Putin and Biden.
Former Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov declaredthat Moscow will not refuse new contacts with Washington at a higher level after the upcoming meeting in Cairo of the Advisory Commission on the Treaty on the Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Arms (START), if the American side shows interest in this.
Last time Putin and Biden personally met at the Russia-US Summit in Geneva in 2021. The talks of the parties lasted more than 3 hours. The Presidents assessed the state and prospects of relations between Russia and the United States, strategic security, information security and cybercrime, as well as the situation in Belarus, Ukraine and the Middle East.
After that, on December 7, they held bilateral negotiations via video link, during which, among other things, the issue of strategic stability was raised.
