Peskov: the neighborhood with Poland is not the most comfortable for Belarus

Poland is a rather aggressive country, which is why its neighborhood is not the most comfortable for Belarus. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

“As for Poland’s weapons, the neighborhood with Poland is indeed not the most comfortable for our Belarusian comrades. The country is quite aggressive, does not disdain subversive activities, and interferes in internal affairs,” he said.

Peskov noted that Moscow and Minsk are “on alert” in connection with potential threats from Poland.

Thus, the Kremlin representative answered a question about concerns about the security of Belarus against the backdrop of Warsaw’s statement about the process of actively arming Poland. On September 20, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Warsaw had stopped supplying weapons to Kyiv, as it was actively arming itself. The next day, Polish government spokesman Piotr Muller clarified that this does not apply to “previously agreed supplies of ammunition and weapons, including those arising from contracts concluded with Ukraine.”

Relations between Belarus, Poland and the Baltic countries deteriorated after the Wagner PMC began operating in the republic at the end of June. After this, the Polish authorities announced that they intended to send 10,000 troops to the border with Belarus.
