Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to use remote electronic voting (DEV) in the Moscow mayoral election. This was stated by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov said that Putin had already voted remotely several times and noted that this was “an extremely convenient way to vote, especially for such busy people.”
“It is convenient, fast, reliable, so with a high degree of confidence we can assume that this time the president will choose this method of voting,” the presidential press secretary explained.
Elections of the mayor of Moscow and deputies in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky districts will pass from 8 to 10 September. Now the post of head of the capital is occupied by Sergei Sobyanin. He took up this post by presidential decree in October 2010. After that, Sobyanin was re-elected twice – in 2013 and in 2018.
