Peskov said that Putin is open to any ideas and contacts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin remains open to any contacts that could lead to a solution to the “Ukrainian problem.” This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.

Answering the question why discuss peace initiatives against the backdrop of the absence of prerequisites for negotiations with Ukraine, Peskov noted that Putin is open to any ideas and contacts that will resolve the conflict.

“And of course, this problem can be solved in different ways. Therefore, any possible ideas, sets of ideas that are aimed at resolving this problem and, accordingly, at ending this conflict, they are supported by Putin. Putin is leading these conversations, he welcomes the upcoming contacts with African leaders,” Peskov said.

He noted that everyone understands what the “Ukrainian problem” is connected with – with guarantees of the security of our country, with the potential existence of an anti-Russian center right at our borders, and with the advancement of the North Atlantic Alliance along with military infrastructure towards Russia.

June 11 Peskov declaredthat now there is no foundation, even a flimsy one, in order to build at least some kind of dialogue with Ukraine. According to Peskov, the Ukrainian authorities do not want this, and also they are not “allowed by the owners.”

Former press secretary of the President informed about the absence of prerequisites for negotiations with Ukraine, but any attempts to develop a plan that would help transfer the conflict to a “peaceful channel” deserve attention.

Several countries have already proposed their plans to resolve the conflict. In February, the Chinese Foreign Ministry presented a 12-point program that included the cessation of hostilities. Peace initiatives were also offered by Indonesia, Brazil, South Africa. However, the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Mikhail Podolyak declaredthat any negotiation process with Russia is impossible on the basis of the proposals of these countries.
