Peskov: Russia has emerged from the crisis

Russia has emerged from the crisis and now has prospects for rapid development. This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, speaking at the Territory of Meanings forum on August 2.

“We have come out of the crisis, and we have prospects for a fairly rapid development by today’s standards. It’s unique,” quotes his project “New Media Workshop” in his Telegram channel.

Peskov added that it remains to be studied “how this happened and where such forces came from in our country.” The Kremlin spokesman noted that patriotism, pride in the heroes participating in the special operation, and in the country, which “according to all forecasts, should have fallen into the abyss, both economic and social, and others, became important meanings for Russia” due to “interest-free sanctions ‘, but in the end was able to avoid it.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. In response, Western countries imposed large-scale sanctions against the Russian Federation and began to provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine.

During his address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the West had deployed “not only a military, informational, but also an economic front” against Russia. At the same time, he stressed, Western countries “have not achieved anything anywhere and will not achieve anything.”

In early July, during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Putin declaredthat Russia’s economic performance was better than expected. He noted that this gives hope for the solution of all the tasks set within a year. During the meeting, Mishustin drew attention to GDP growth, which in May amounted to 5.4% compared to May 2022, since the beginning of the year – 0.6%. According to the prime minister, by the end of 2023, GDP could grow by more than 2%.
