Presidential Press Secretary Peskov: Bild does not hesitate to write “canards”
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that he would prefer not to comment on the publication of the German publication Bild, which, with reference to a “secret document,” talks about Germany’s preparations for “a possible military clash between NATO and Russia.” Peskov explained that Bild “does not hesitate to write various ‘canards’.”
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, described Bild as an “information dump.”
The publication in question claims that an escalation of the conflict is possible as early as the summer of 2024, when Ukraine “will be defeated due to insufficient Western assistance and a large-scale Russian offensive.” The NATO commander-in-chief may order the transfer of 300 thousand troops, including 30 thousand Bundeswehr soldiers, to the eastern flank.
