Peskov: Putin will eventually visit Donbass

Russian President Vladimir Putin will eventually visit the Donbass, since it is a region of Russia, declared press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.

“Over time, this will happen, of course, this is a region of the Russian Federation,” Peskov told reporters (quoted by RIA Novosti).

In August, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, visited the Donbass for the first time since the beginning of the special operation. He met with Acting Heads of the LPR and DPR Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin. In addition, at the end of October, the former head of Roskosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, confirmed that he was in the combat zone in the Zaporozhye region. He took the call sign “Cosmos”.

This week it became known that Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin visited on the line of defense in the zone of a special military operation and met with the mobilized soldiers of the RF Armed Forces. Earlier, Peskov visited Luhansk to conduct training for media representatives and press services. In July, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin visited the LPR for the first time.

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Vladimir Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
