Russian President Vladimir Putin “constantly and regularly” receives information on the situation in the Belgorod region, said his press secretary Dmitry Peskov.

“Constantly and regularly, the president receives information from our border guards, and from the military, and from rescuers, and also from representatives of both the municipal and regional authorities of the Belgorod region,” Peskov said.

He added that the main issue is the provision of assistance to people, namely support for temporary resettlement of “those who need it and who express a desire.”

Over the past week, shelling of the territory of the Belgorod region by the Armed Forces of Ukraine has become more frequent. Earlier, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said that on May 30, 215 shells of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were fired at the Shebekinsky urban district. In connection with the shelling in the border regions, they began to prepare temporary accommodation centers for residents of the Belgorod region. On May 31, the governors announced the preparation of a TAP for residents of the Belgorod Region Lipetsk And Voronezh areas. On the same day, Gladkov announced the evacuation of the children of the Shebekinsky and Grayvoronsky districts. On May 31, the first 300 children left for Voronezh.
