Peskov: Putin did not discuss with Erdogan the purchase of Bayraktar drones

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that during the talks between Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi, the topic of Bayraktar drones was not raised. According to him, the heads of state did not discuss either the purchase of drones from Turkey or the establishment of their production in Russia, RIA Novosti reports.
“No,” Mr. Peskov answered questions about a possible discussion by the heads of state of the supply of combat drones.
Earlier, Haber 7 TV channel, citing Mr. Erdogan’s statement informedthat the Turkish leader announced Vladimir Putin’s readiness to cooperate with Turkey in the production of Bayraktar TB2 attack drones.
White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan July 16 declaredthat the Russian side is interested in buying a large batch of Iranian combat drones. Later Russian officials refuted this information.
