Peskov: Kremlin pays great attention to China’s position on Ukraine

Russia pays great attention to China’s position on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, but now there are no prerequisites for its transition to a peaceful course, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, told reporters.

“We pay great attention to all the considerations that we hear from Beijing from our colleagues. But now a special military operation is underway, there are no prerequisites for the transition to some kind of peaceful course in this situation,” he said.

Russia will continue to fulfill its tasks through a special operation, the Kremlin spokesman stressed. Peskov called the dialogue supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping “tight and trusting.”

At the briefing, Peskov was also asked to comment on the words of Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang that the Ukrainian crisis is being controlled by an “invisible hand”, which is pushing to prolong the conflict.

“Here, perhaps, we can disagree with our Chinese comrades. This is, of course, a joke. Do you know what the joke is? This hand is not invisible, it is a visible hand. Earlier in his statement, Qin Gang on the sidelines of the session of the National People’s Congress emphasizedthat cooperation between Russia and China is not aimed at confrontation with third countries. The Minister also stressed that bilateral relations between Russia and China are the key to global strategic balance and stability.
