The United States proposed extending until April 30, 2025 the mandate of the group of experts of the UN Security Council Committee on sanctions against the DPRK.
According to the text of the resolution, they were to search for and collect information on cases of non-compliance by North Korea with “measures imposed by relevant resolutions” of the Council and continue to inform the committee about these cases and trends.
Of the 15 members of the UN Security Council, 13 voted for extending the mandate, China abstained, and Russia opposed.
