Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov believes that attacks by the Ukrainian armed forces on Russian regions are attempts to cast a shadow on the presidential elections.

“I would leave this to our security forces – it is their prerogative to make an assessment. But you are right that this is an attempt to cast a shadow on the elections,” the Kremlin representative said during a press call.

Previously, the Russian Ministry of Defense reportedthat yesterday, March 14, military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border troops of the FSB, repelled an attack by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Belgorod region. According to the department, the Ukrainian troops landed on two helicopters in the area of the border village of Kozinka, but were stopped and pushed back.
