Peskov commented on Zelensky’s words about the absence of borders between Poland and Ukraine

The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov suggested that they continue to follow the statements of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “in order to understand his plan.” Thus, he commented on Zelensky’s yesterday’s words about the absence of borders between Ukraine and Poland in the future.

“If Mr. Zelensky had in mind the absorption of Ukraine by Poland, this needs to be sorted out. If Mr. Zelensky wants to follow the path of his neighbors, for example, to announce that there will be no more Ukrainian language, but there will be a Polish language, well, we also saw such precedents in the neighborhood of Ukraine. It is unlikely that this can be somehow understood. Therefore, we probably need to be patient and continue to follow the statements of Mr. Zelensky in order to understand his plans,” he said.

On the eve of April 5, during his visit to Poland, Zelensky declaredthat there will be no borders between Ukraine and Poland in the future. “In the future, there will be no borders between our peoples: political, economic and, what is very important, historical,” he said.

May 6, 2022 with a similar statement spoke and Polish President Andrzej Duda. He also assured that there would be no borders between Poland and Ukraine in the future. Then he declared that this is necessary for “living together on this earth, building and rebuilding together our common happiness and common strength, which will allow us to repel any danger or any possible threat.”

In November last year, the director of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), Sergei Naryshkin, said that Poland was getting ready to the annexation of Western Ukrainian lands. “The information coming to the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service indicates that Warsaw is speeding up preparations for the annexation of Western Ukrainian lands: the territories of Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and most of the Ternopil regions of Ukraine,” he said.
