Peskov called “telegram ducks” messages about the resignation of the head of the General Staff

Messages about the resignation of the head of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov are another “telegram canards”. This statement was made by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“There are no decrees, so these are absolute telegram ducks, of which there are a huge number,” the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.

Earlier, a number of Telegram channels and Western media published publications that Russian President Vladimir Putin allegedly signed a decree on the resignation of the head of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Valery Gerasimov.

Army General Valery Gerasimov replaced Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces at the end of 2012 after the resignation of Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov and Chief of the General Staff Nikolai Makarov. According to the first military education, Gerasimov is a tanker, in 1977 he graduated from the Kazan Higher Tank School.
