Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said that Vladimir Putin’s speech today at the Valdai Forum will be “very meaningful.” He called the president’s speech at Valdai “a global event.”
“We are expecting a speech by President Putin at Valdai. Every time this is an event of such global scale. Everyone is watching with great attention,” Dmitry Peskov said at the briefing. He also noted that Vladimir Putin will speak today at the twentieth anniversary plenary session of Valdai.
“Those international conditions, that international turbulence, the transit transition – all this, of course, allows us to expect a very, very meaningful and important speech by the president,” says the presidential press secretary.
During a speech at Valdai in 2022, the president said that Russia stands at a “historic milestone”, and ahead of it lies “probably the most dangerous, unpredictable and at the same time important decade since the end of World War II.”
The meeting of the Valdai Club takes place in Sochi from October 2 to October 5. Vladimir Putin’s speech will take place today in the middle of the day. The Valdai Club was created in 2004 on the initiative of RIA Novosti, the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy, and the magazines “Russia in Global Affairs” and Russia Profile.
