Peskov called France an unfriendly state

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that France is an unfriendly state due to the imposition of sanctions against Russia, as well as other anti-Russian actions, informs TASS with reference to the words of the politician.

“France is an unfriendly state due to the actions that France is taking against our country,” the Kremlin spokesman said.

March 5 Russia contributed 48 countries in the list of “unfriendly”, including France. Also on the list are Australia, Albania, Andorra, United Kingdom including Jersey, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Gibraltar, the remaining member states of the European Union, Iceland, Canada, Liechtenstein, Micronesia, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Republic of Korea, San Marino, North Macedonia, Singapore, USA, Taiwan (China), Ukraine, Montenegro, Switzerland, Japan. Since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron has repeatedly called Russian President Vladimir Putin, for which he was often criticized, including from Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. According to him, the talks between the two leaders, despite their frequency, did not help prevent hostilities in Ukraine. Macron called the criticism of the Polish prime minister “unfounded and outrageous.”

July 3 Russian Foreign Ministry accused Paris in violation of the confidentiality of the conversation between Putin and Macron. Details of the telephone conversations between the heads of state, which took place in February, before the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, were shown in the documentary “President, Europe and War.”

After the start of the special operation, the authorities of the US, EU, UK and other countries began to impose sanctions against Russia, including freezing the assets of Russian businessmen and companies. The countries also froze about half of the international reserves of the Bank of Russia in the amount of about $300 billion.
