Russian President Vladimir Putin did not instruct the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to liquidate Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky at the beginning of the special operation, said press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
“This is complete nonsense,” said a Kremlin spokesman (quote according to TASS).
Previous edition of The Wall Street Journal wrote referring to the Ukrainian secret services about the order of President Putin for Kadyrov, who was allegedly instructed to occupy the government quarter in Kyiv and kill Zelensky.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24. Putin called the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.
