Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, speaking at the marathon “Knowledge. First” on March 6, said that democracy in Russia is “the best.” Speaking about the upcoming presidential elections, he said that “the main thing for us is our assessments.”

“We will no longer tolerate criticism of our democracy and claims that it is not what it should be. Our democracy is the best, and we will continue to build it,” said Dmitry Peskov (quoted by TASS).

“We will always remain open to all countries that are ready for equal, humane, mutually beneficial relations. This does not mean that we are going to be or that we are a closed country,” he added.

Dmitry Peskov performed at the marathon as part of the youth festival, which takes place in Sochi from March 2 to 6. In his speech, he spoke about the nuclear threat, the situation in Transnistria, relations with China, the United States and anti-Americanism, Germany, the upcoming elections, sanctions, and the transformation of world politics.
