Russia is not interested in the decision of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to appoint the former commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian army as ambassador to the UK. The press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, spoke about this on Thursday, March 7.

In response to a corresponding question, the Kremlin speaker stated that this personnel decision of the Ukrainian president does not matter for Russia. Peskov did not give any other comments.

Earlier, Russian State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa said that Zelensky decided to send Zaluzhny “away from sight, because he is afraid of him.” According to the parliamentarian, the President of Ukraine fears competition from the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The European Solidarity party, headed by ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, regarded the announcement of Zaluzhny’s new post as like political gamesnoting that there has not yet been a decree on the appointment.
