The question of changing the status of the special operation in Ukraine is not on the agenda, said Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
“At the moment, we don’t have such a topic on the agenda,” the Kremlin spokesman emphasized.
Earlier today, State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Mikhail Sheremet offered change the status of the special operation in Ukraine due to the supply of tanks to the Ukrainian side from the USA and Germany. According to him, the change in status will make it possible to transfer the country’s economy to a military footing and mobilize all resources “for a common victory.” At the same time, the deputy did not specify what status should be assigned to the special operation.
The question of changing the status of the NWO was asked to Peskov several times during the fall of 2022. In October, the press secretary pointed outthat no decisions were made to change the status of the NWO. Later, he clarified that the reformatting of the SVO into the KTO is the prerogative of the supreme commander in chief, Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called the defense of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the goals of the SVO. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia.
