Peskov announced the invitation of the participants of the special operation to the message of Putin

Participants of the special operation will attend the message of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, foreign journalists are not invited to the event. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov.

“Foreign guests are not invited to the message, there is no such practice,” declared He.

Peskov called the composition of the guests “quite traditional.” He clarified that most of the invitees are deputies and senators. Also, the press secretary added, this year will be distinguished by the presence of participants in the special operation at the event.

Formerly Peskov informedthat foreign media from “unfriendly countries” would not be accredited to the event, while he noted that foreign media representing friendly countries would be invited to the message.

The message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly will take place on February 21. In the Kremlin expectthat Putin will concentrate on the topic of the special operation and give an assessment of what is happening, since now “all life revolves” around this topic.

Peskov also pointed outthat the hour set by the federal TV channels for broadcasting the President’s message is a formality. Earlier it became known that federal channels, in particular Channel One, Rossiya 1, NTV, will broadcast Putin’s message to the Federal Assembly on February 21 at 12:00 Moscow time.

The last time Putin’s address to the Federal Assembly took place on April 21, 2021. Last year, despite preparations, it was canceled due to the recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics and the start of a military operation in Ukraine. It was expected that the message of the head of state to the Federal Assembly would take place at the end of 2022, but in December Peskov announced the postponement of the event to 2023.
