On Thursday, March 23, Russian President Vladimir Putin will have a telephone conversation with an unnamed foreign politician. At the same time, it is not yet specified with whom exactly the head of our state will talk. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov spoke about the preparation of the international call.

Between March 20 and 22, Vladimir Putin did not hold telephone conversations with foreign colleagues, because he was hosting Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow. The Chinese leader flew to Russia on Monday and left our country two days later. During this time, he held talks with both Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

While the Chinese President was taking part in meetings and receptions in the Kremlin, US President Joe Biden wanted to talk to him. John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, said that the American leader “really wants to have a conversation” with Xi Jinping. At the same time, according to him, the call has not yet been scheduled and “will take place at the right time.” Dmitry Peskov, commenting on this intention of Washington, noted that Moscow respects the right of Xi Jinping to speak with anyone and from anywhere.
