Increasingly, there are reports in the media about involvement in sabotage on the Nord Streams of Ukraine. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publication of The Washington Post.

“Ukrainian traces of this sabotage, this terrorist act are appearing more and more in various reports, in various investigations and media reports. This is true. We are looking into this very carefully,” he emphasized.

Peskov pointed to “disturbing allegations” in the WP publication, which relate to the alleged ignorance of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky about plans to undermine pipelines. In his opinion, this is an “alarming sign” not only for Russia, but also for the West. “If the Kiev regime no longer controls the situation in its country, then this is alarming and should also be taken into account,” he emphasized.

The Kremlin spokesman also called on “those conducting the investigation” to publicly present the results of the investigations, as well as name the perpetrators, coordinators and customers of the attack.

November 11 WP citing unnamed officials from Ukraine and European countries reportedthat the bombing of the Nord Streams was coordinated by the ex-commander of one of the units of the special operations forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Roman Chervinsky. According to the publication, when carrying out sabotage, he received orders from the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. Chervinsky himself denied any involvement in blowing up gas pipelines.

On September 26, 2022, the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, which pass through the Baltic Sea, were damaged as a result of sabotage. Only one of the Nord Stream 2 lines has survived, but it is not used for gas supplies, since Germany did not allow the pipeline to be put into operation after its completion.
