People's Council of the LPR adopted a law on the election of the head of the republic

The People’s Council of the Luhansk People’s Republic during the plenary session considered and adopted the law on the election of the head of the LPR, reported legislature press office.

According to the adopted law, the head of the LPR is elected by the deputies of the People’s Council from among three candidates presented by the President of Russia. The election of the head is carried out by secret ballot.

On October 5, 2022, President of Russia Vladimir Putin appointed Leonid Pasechnik as Acting Head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Denis Pushilin as Acting Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, and Yevgeny Balitsky as Acting Governor of the Zaporozhye Region and Vladimir Saldo as Acting Governor of the Kherson Region.
