The goals of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine will be achieved, this will not be hindered by anti-Russian sanctions and Western military assistance to Kyiv. Such a statement was made by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev at a meeting on national security issues in the Siberian Federal District.

“Despite the large-scale assistance of the West to the Nazi regime [в Киеве] and unprecedented sanctions pressure on Russia, the goals of the special military operation will be achieved,” Patrushev emphasized (quote according to TASS).

He pointed to the desire of the United States and “their vassals” to drag out the conflict in Ukraine, mentioning the increase in the volume of arms supplies by the West.

The day before, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev also stated that all the goals of the special operation would be achieved. Later he named the conditions that Russia puts now, “a warm-up for the requirements of the future” and said that Ukraine was waiting for “total capitulation.”

After the start of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, Western countries imposed large-scale sanctions against Russia, and also began to provide military assistance to Kyiv. Thus, the energy sector, the high-tech sector, aviation, the banking industry, the mining industry, the automotive industry, etc., fell under the restrictions.

Also on September 8, US President Joe Biden approved a new package of military assistance to Ukraine for $675 million. In addition, the US State Department told Congress about plans to allocate another $2 billion in military assistance to Ukraine and neighboring countries. It is specified that $1 billion will go to strengthening the security of Ukraine, and another $1 billion will be transferred to neighbors.

As specified in the Pentagon, since January 2021, the United States has allocated $15.2 billion in assistance to Ukraine to ensure the country’s security. Of these, Kyiv has received $14.5 billion since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine.
