Patrushev spoke about the growth of fish exports to friendly countries by 40%

Export of fish from Russia to friendly countries in 2022 increased by 40%. About it informed Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev during a meeting of the Board of the Federal Agency for Fishery.

Fish products are traditionally included in the top three key export positions in the agro-industrial complex. At the end of the year, fish exports increased by 5%, and to friendly countries by 40%. “The most important task for the future is to increase the export of competitive fish products with high added value,” the Ministry of Agriculture added.

In 2022, the turnover of core enterprises showed an increase of 8% and amounted to 866 billion rubles. The Ministry of Agriculture also noted that the share of products of deep processing has increased – up to 30% in the total volume. Self-sufficiency in fish has reached more than 153%, while according to the Food Security Doctrine, 85% is required. The ministry expects that in 2023 it will be possible to maintain “this high level.”

In May, the apparatus of the Russian government asked to additionally justify the preferential fee for the use of aquatic biological resources for high-margin fish products. The authorities are afraid of a shortage of products in the domestic market due to the growth of exports, so they asked the relevant departments to provide information on the impact of such measures.
