Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ talked to the participants of the meal after the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on the feast of the Lord’s Entry into Jerusalem.
Commenting on the pressure exerted by Western countries on Moscow, the patriarch stressed that Russia does not seek to seize other states.
“Our current battle… is against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against the spirits of wickedness in high places (see Eph. 6:12)… Russia is on the side of the world. And this can be easily proved, because Russia does not strive to become richer, does not seek to seize other countries, does not seek to subjugate anyone. Russia simply seeks to preserve its identity, its faith, its system of values,” he said.
