Pashinyan: EU must take steps demonstrating the nature of relations with Armenia

The European Union must take steps that will demonstrate the nature of its relations with Armenia. This statement was made by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a press conference on Tuesday, March 12.

In response to a question about whether Yerevan plans to apply for EU membership, Pashinyan said that the country is ready to continue expanding its cooperation agenda with the union.

In addition, the head of the Armenian government expressed hope that the EU will make decisions that will “reflect strong and deep relations with the country.” According to him, such decisions could include starting the process of visa liberalization, providing a liberal regime for Armenian goods, deepening cooperation in the security field, up to expanding the capabilities of the EU mission and extending the mandate of European observers for another 2 years.
