Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the issue of the possible withdrawal of the Russian military base from the country is not currently being discussed.

“We do not raise the issue of withdrawing the Russian military base from Armenia,” Pashinyan told The Wall Street Journal (translated by TASS).

At the same time, he also stated that Yerevan is trying, within the framework of working contacts, to understand the reason for “such behavior of the Russian Federation and the CSTO.”

Earlier, the WSJ, without providing a direct quote, reported that Pashinyan said in an interview that he did not see any advantages in the presence of a Russian base. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov refused comment publication, noting that the context of what was said is unknown.
