Pashinyan stated the ineffectiveness of Armenian security structures

The external security structures that Armenia belongs to are ineffective from the point of view of state interests and the security of the country, Prime Minister of the Republic Nikol Pashinyan said in a video message to citizens.
“The attacks on Armenia launched by Azerbaijan in recent years allow us to draw the obvious conclusion that the external security structures in which we participate are ineffective from the point of view of the state interests and security of Armenia,” – said he (quote from TASS).
Pashinyan stated also about the need to cooperate with all partners who are ready for mutually beneficial joint work. The Armenian prime minister commented on the work of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
According to him, “serious questions” about the goals of his activities are raised by “the capture of the villages of Khtsaberd and Khin Taher in December 2020, the capture of more than 60 Armenian military personnel, the events in the village of Parukh, the policy of intimidation of the population of Karabakh and the blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan and finally the attack on Nagorno-Karabakh on September 19.”
“We call on our partners to respect our state and sovereignty, and declare our strong will to strengthen our external and internal security,” said he (quote from Sputnik Armenia).
On September 19, Azerbaijan announced the start of “anti-terrorist measures” necessary for the “restoration of the constitutional order” in Nagorno-Karabakh. Baku demanded the dissolution of the regional government and the withdrawal of Armenian troops. Yerevan denied the presence of its troops in the region. The next day, Karabakh authorities announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire.
Pashinyan previously stated that Armenia is ready to accept refugees from Karabakh, but at the moment, according to the authorities, there is no direct threat to the civilian population of the region. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan called introduce peacekeepers with a UN mandate to Nagorno-Karabakh, which will ensure stability and security in the region.
